În viitorul apropiat, megacorporațiile au investit mii de miliarde de dolari în dezvoltarea unor trupe de clone îmbunătățite cibernetic pentru explorarea spațiului. În efortul de a construi echipe solide pentru misiunile viitoare - și, mai ales, pentru a obține contracte guvernamentale profitabile - au creat insule speciale de antrenament. Pe aceste insule, ei pot simula toate condițiile mortale pe care soldații lor le-ar putea întâlni pe planete îndepărtate. Pentru a finanța aceste programe și inovații costisitoare, producătorii de arme s-au asociat cu mogulii din mass-media pentru a crea și promova competiții transmise în direct din poligoanele de antrenament de pe insule. Așa s-a născut RELOAD, cel mai mare show TV de pe planetă, cu cei mai carismatici și capabili subiecți care se întrec în fața a milioane de telespectatori avizi de recunoaștere pentru a câștiga faima pentru ei și bogăția creatorilor lor. To fund these expensive programs and the military-grade innovations built into their test subjects, the arms manufacturers have teamed up with media moguls to create and promote broadcast competitions live from the islands' training grounds. Thus was born RELOAD, the biggest TV show on the planet, with the most charismatic and capable subjects competing in front of millions of avid viewers to win fame for themselves and fortunes for their creators. In Reload, you get to engage in this battle-royale experience thanks to an innovative action dice system that offers fast-paced play and the freedom to explore the island while fighting for fame.
