Super Meat Boy 3D este un platformer nemilos în care joci ca un cub animat de carne care încearcă să-și salveze prietena, făcută din bandaje, de un fetus malefic într-un borcan, îmbrăcat într-un frac - în 3D. Eroul tău „de carne” sare de pe pereți, evită mări de ferăstraie circulare, trece prin peșteri prăbușite și gropi cu gunoi, sacrificându-se iar și iar pentru a salva dama în primejdie. Jocul preia dificultatea dură a titlurilor retro clasice și o reduce la un platforming direct, rapid și necruțător, în care reflexele sunt totul. Cu o dificultate care crește de la grea la copleșitoare, Meat Boy trece prin păduri luxuriante, dar în flăcări, gropi de gunoi uriașe pline cu deșeurile umanității și fierării high-tech care creează capcanele menite să-l omoare de nenumărate ori - în 3D. Pe lângă niveluri, jocul include și lupte epice cu șefi, precum și multe secrete ascunse de deblocat.
